Polaris - January Update

We would like to thank all the community members who’ve took the time to share our recent Polaris Tweets. It's heartwarming to see so many people interested in the game’s development!
This game is a project we take pride in, and we believe it will revolutionise the web3 gaming space. With that said, we’d like to share this month's Polaris updates with you all.
What is Polaris?
Polaris is a new upcoming MOBA game integrating NFTs technology. The universe of this game transports players to a cold and bloody world in which different tribes and civilizations solve their problems through battles in the Great Arena.
In Polaris, the "combatants" (characters playable in-game) are represented by NFTs available on-chain. Players are free to collect them and play with them directly in-game.
Polaris is still in development and is not yet publicly available, and the same goes for the NFTs which are not yet release. The development team is focusing on building this video game and will soon communicate on a possible roadmap.
Concepts Arts Update
Over the last few months our artist team has made a lot of progress on the design of our characters. We have currently finalized concepts for 14 of the 15 characters that will be available when Polaris is released in Alpha.
These characters will be playable upon release, with them each having their own classes and special abilities. The gameplay will be based around them, and the character lineup your team select will play a crucial role to you winning the match.
Here is a first look at some of our characters:

These characters all come from the vast world of Polaris, from distant and more or less different lands. Polaris was once a rich land where people lived in harmony and peace, but the great cold wreaked havoc and instability in the region, causing war and famine.
Characters Modelling
The art team has also been actively working on character modelling and has made great progress. At the moment, half of our characters are already modelled and rigged. The next steps are to finalise their textures and to work on animations & VFX for their in-game implementation.
Map Progress
During the month of January, the artists started working on the first Polaris map. The creation of a map takes time as it contains many assets and custom-made details but the artistic team is progressing very fast and we are very happy about it.

Launcher Progress
Our Launcher is technically functional and we’ve completed the UX Design. The UX focuses on the interaction between the user and the launcher. We want to make it easy for an ordinary gamer to connect to their metamask wallet, and enter credentials to play. We’re now in the process of developing the UI Design to make the Launcher look presentable and branded for representation. We will share the completed UI Design in next month’s update.
The launcher will allow players to have the latest updates of the game. It also allows you to communicate with your friends and to start games by finding opponents automatically.
Technical Progress
Over the past few months, the developers have made great progress on the gameplay, and most of the essential game systems are now finalised. The game is now in the MVP (minimum viable product) phase technically and is perfectly playable with these main systems: minions systems, multiplayer, shop, mini-map & UI, spells...
The developers also took advantage of this month to migrate the game to a new network: Mirror network. More stable, this network makes the game experience even smoother and will allow us in the future to make game mods with many players connected simultaneously
